Naturopathic Medicine is “a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine.” (Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors)

Training for naturopathic doctors includes a degree in pre-medical sciences followed by four years of naturopathic medical training. There are seven accredited educational institutions in North America that provide naturopathic medical training. In order to obtain licensure in Canada or the US, ND’s must complete their education at one of these institutions along with standardized examinations.

Naturopathic doctors are trained in many natural modalities including: herbal medicine, nutrition, traditional Chinese medicine, physical medicine, homeopathy, orthomolecular therapy, and more. These methods are used to help each individual achieve a healthy state. The main goal is to support the body’s self healing mechanisms by first determining the underlying cause of illness and disease, rather than just treating symptoms.

It is a therapeutic style that trusts the wisdom of the body, and gives space for us to process experiences and emotions in an embodied manner.

In a session with Marie-Claire, you will experience the linking of talk therapy with embodiment. This could mean anything from paying attention to sensations that are associated with emotions, using small movements to represent various internal processes, all the way to having an expressive dance about a certain experience or emotion happening for you. Using imagination, play, various props (ie: scarves, weights, ribbons, marbles, balls, etc..), metaphors, and sensation - dance/movement therapy is an alternative way to explore our psyche. Experiential exploration is key, and assists in better understanding ourselves.

Emotional reset and healing mediumship is Amanda’s unique and structured approach. Through a powerhouse combination of mediumship, reiki and emotion code, each session focuses on identifying and removing sources of discomfort. By removing the sources of discomfort, we move beyond just easing discomfort and instead create an environment that allows our body, mind and energy to re-balance and heal.

Our body’s primary objective is to keep us alive. When we experience strong emotions that our mind deems as potentially interfering with this objective, or we were not taught how to process our emotions, our body stores these emotions and the associated memories inside our body. Our mind then creates survival pathways to prevent us from having to experience these emotions. These often manifest as physical pain, depression, anxiety, helplessness and detachment. Although these can be crippling, they are often our body’s way of distracting and protecting us from the true, root emotions that it does not want to experience. Emotional healing and reset mediumship focuses on helping clients connect with these root emotions and to release them.

This work is not intended to replace medical professionals, medications or psychologists that you may be working with. Rather, many clients find that working with multiple health and wellness professionals simultaneously is very effective to their healing journey.

Massage Therapy

Working with people and the body has always been something I admired to do. After going through my own health journey I was introduced to acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It was within this fascinating medicine I not only found ease & relief within my own health but also a healing modality that truly aligned with me. After graduating from Pacific Rim College in Victoria and living on the beautiful west coast, I am happy to be back in Calgary and continue my practice in my home city.

Connection is a big part of my practice and my goal in every treatment is to provide a space where you feel safe, seen, heard & supported. I believe that together we can work to meet your health and lifestyle goals and get you back into your natural rhythmic flow.

My passion is strongly rooted in my belief in the power of nutrition for optimal health and wellness. In a world where there is so much nutrition information, supplements and diets; people really need a source that they can look to and trust. I believe in a whole-food approach and creating and fostering a healthy relationship with food through mindful eating practices. I think many of us struggle with this and often look at food and categorize it into separate groups; fats, carbohydrates, proteins, calories or points… and so on and so forth, the list goes on. I believe it is important to get out of this mindset and get back to the basics of how food nourishes our body and mind, how it makes us feel and how it can keep our bodies strong, healthy and young if we are putting the right things into it. I do not believe in promoting any certain eating patterns and believe that each individual needs to decide what works best for them, in their bodies and in their lives.

Knowledge is power so my passion lies in educating my clients on their health and their bodies functioning (physiology) which empowers and motivates them to make the changes to achieve better overall health and wellbeing.

I have always had an interest in wellness and healthcare and that is what attracted me to the study of nutrition. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science; Nutrition Major and completed my dietetic internship to receive my Registered Dietitian designation in 2015 from the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA). After graduation I worked in a community hospital setting predominantly in the area of diabetes management and found the system in which I was working in and trying to help my clients was very disconnected, thus not allowing me to truly help these people. I was frustrated and wanted a greater understanding of nutrition and its role in the body, so I enrolled in an online program called Nutritional Endocrinology Practitioner Training (NEPT). This has given me a greater depth of understanding of the hormonal imbalances in the body and how nutrition can be used to bring it back into balance. It has also introduced me to the practice of integrative healthcare and the more holistic view it takes to truly help people with their healthcare challenges.

I am excited to be working alongside different practitioners that can offer their expertise into the other crucial components of optimal health such as sleep, stress management, digestion, hormonal balance, movement and so much more. It is not possible to just look at one piece and just work there, we must look at the body as a whole system and address the multiple issues that could be affecting your health. It is a journey and involves a lot of self exploration and learning but you must start somewhere, and I would love to help you with this.

Balance is the key to health; our bodies are our vessels through life, and we must take the utmost care of them. I would love to see you and help you on your journey and help bring balance to your life so that you can really enjoy life and the time you have here on this beautiful earth.

My passion is strongly rooted in my belief in the power of nutrition for optimal health and welln... Read More

I am a born and raised Calgarian, where I live with my husband, daughter and fur-child. My passion in life is healing. I believe that healing ourselves emotionally and mentally is a responsibility. I believe that hurting people hurt people and when we don’t heal our inner wounds, we unintentionally share our pain with others.

I have spent the majority of my life exploring and discovering how to heal myself, both internally and physically. There have been a lot of let downs and frustrations, especially when it came to finding people and techniques that actually helped. It was through these struggles that I began to explore and subsequently discover my own gifts within alternate forms of healing.

I started this portion of my path focusing solely on Mediumship and providing Readings. After doing this for a few years, I started seeing a gap in what most of my clients were looking for and what a Reading could provide them. So I searched for other techniques that could fill this gap. I ended up finding many techniques that were amazing, but each had limitations with what they could provide. I wanted to offer a service that provided tangible, permanent results for clients. In the end I decided to combine three techniques that were powerful parts of my own healing journey, but also filled in the limitations of the others. Since then, I have been constantly blown away by the impact and the results of this powerhouse combination, which I have termed Emotional Reset and Healing Mediumship.

I am a born and raised Calgarian, where I live with my husband, daughter and fur-child. My passio... Read More

Born and raised on the gulf islands, I bring my love for nature and my passion for living well to my naturopathic practice. I am one of those nerds who truly practices what I preach.

As a young adult, I developed a passion for all things nutrition which sent my on my journey of becoming a naturopathic doctor. My educational trajectory included UBC for nutrition studies and then the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.

How do I practice? I love collaborating with people on their healthcare journey! To me that’s truly what it is – collaboration. I believe that given the right tools and cues most people are the best judge of what is happening with their body and their health. Many just need a little guidance, education and encouragement.

I very much enjoy using botanical medicine to help assist the body’s natural healing process. The natural brilliance of plants works so very synergistically with human physiology.

I also personally practice meditation and mindfulness and am passionate about sharing this with others. A mindfulness or meditation practice can be the lynchpin of a person’s path to health. Using this and other techniques (including botanicals), my main goal when working with people is to balance the nervous system which in turn allows for healing.

My process includes reviewing and analyzing laboratory results regularly to ensure we are on the right path, as well as working in concert with any other healthcare providers on your team.

Who do I work with? Humans who are interested in balancing their hormones, managing stress better, getting healthier and more vibrant, aging gracefully, feeling amazing and connecting with their true self.

Mike has a degree in kinesiology from the University of Calgary and is a registered kinesiologist. He has been working in the health and wellness industry for the past 12 years. Mike grew up in Calgary participating in elite level athletics which, like many in the kinesiology field, sparked an interest to pursue a career in health and wellness. His career started as a strength coach, learning about movement and strength training while working with talented athletes from many different sports. He learned a lot about strength and conditioning from some great mentors, and more importantly, learned how to coach.

After working with clients suffering from movement dysfunction and chronic pain, Mike made the decision to transition from athletic training to specialized fitness training. The joy of helping his clients achieve a greater quality of life has motivated him to continue his education and add more tools to his toolbox.

Mike completed his osteopathic manual therapy training through the 5 year program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy in Vancouver. For him, the principles on which osteopathy was founded, as well as the school’s dedication towards anatomy and physiology mastery, provided him with tools that has allowed him to better help clients. Mike’s goal in every session is to establish a solid foundation, remove dysfunction and encourage progressive healthy movement and fitness.
